Hi! My name is Kayee Lee.
My mother bought me my first guitar when I was 11 years old at a pawnshop on the gritty streets of Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. I played that guitar until I broke all the strings and we couldn't afford to buy new ones. Then in high school, this passion was subverted as I followed the path of the dutiful Asian daughter excelling in school and later pursued an acceptable career.
However, as most people know, passion can only be ignored for so long and since picking up the guitar again, I have written hundreds of songs in every genre from country to heavy rock to hip hop.
I'm not a young ingenue anymore and I have severe performance anxiety. Being a rockstar and performing in front of an arena full of people has never been my dream. Instead, these songs are like children I gave birth to and I am now searching for a surrogate mother to nurture and give them a fighting chance to be heard.
Having gone through the process of elimination and looking for the perfect fit, I have come up with the best singer to take my songs under her wing.
Kelly Clarkson needs to sing my songs!
